Organic Fenugreek – Ayur-vana – 60 Capsules
The same active ingredient, as capsules.
Pure, versatile powder
This organic fenugreek powder is 100% seed powder, with no additives, excipients or preservatives. Its loose-powder format allows great flexibility — mixed into a hot drink, yoghurt, smoothie, or used in cooking. Fenugreek, known as Methi in Ayurveda, has been used for millennia in Indian tradition and also holds an important place in Middle Eastern and Mediterranean herbal medicine. The seeds are rich in steroidal saponins, mucilage fibres (galactomannans), proteins, amino acids (including 4-hydroxyisoleucine), the alkaloid trigonelline, vitamins and minerals.
Traditional Ayurvedic uses
In Ayurveda, fenugreek is considered a warming plant that balances Vata and Kapha doshas. It is traditionally used to stimulate appetite, support good digestion and normal metabolism. Ancient Ayurvedic texts mention fenugreek as a traditional support for breastfeeding women, who traditionally use it to support lactation. It is also valued for hair and scalp care — used externally as a mask, fenugreek powder is prized for strengthening hair fibre and adding shine and volume. Its soluble fibres, notably galactomannans, contribute to regular transit and general digestive comfort.
How to use it
As a drink: mix a teaspoon (about 3–5g) into a glass of warm water, warm plant milk or herbal tea — a touch of honey softens its slightly bitter, maple-like flavour. In cooking: a staple of Indian spice blends, in curries, dals, chutneys or homemade naan. Hair care: mix with warm water or yoghurt into a paste, apply to hair and scalp, leave 20–30 minutes, then rinse before your usual shampoo. As a supplement, a course of 4–6 weeks is generally recommended, renewable after a short break.
How to use & precautions
Mix 1 teaspoon (about 3–5g) into water, warm milk, yoghurt or a smoothie, 1–2 times a day, preferably with meals. Can also be added to curries, soups or bread.
Do not exceed the recommended daily dose. Not recommended for pregnant women. Those on medication, particularly anticoagulant or antidiabetic treatment, should consult a healthcare professional before use. Keep out of reach of young children. Store in a cool, dry place away from light.
