Buy Organic Multi-Impuls Tonic: a living fermented drink with lactic bacteria
Jarmino’s organic Multi-Impuls Tonicum is a fermented tonic made from whey and lactic acid bacteria cultures, produced through a cascade fermentation process for exceptional microbial diversity. Available at our Paris shop, with Click & Collect and delivery across France and Europe.
Cascade fermentation and living micro-organisms
What sets Multi-Impuls apart is its cascade, or multi-stage, fermentation process, where organic ingredients ferment through several successive phases, each allowing different microbial strains to develop and contribute to the final microbial profile — resulting in a far greater diversity of lactic bacteria and yeasts than a single-stage fermentation could achieve.
The finished tonic contains around 15 strains of lactic bacteria and yeast, including well-documented species such as Bifidobacterium breve, B. infantis, B. lactis, B. longum, Lactobacillus acidophilus, L. bulgaricus, L. casei, L. plantarum, L. rhamnosus, L. reuteri and Streptococcus thermophilus — roughly 6×10⁵ viable cells per ml, or around 18 million living micro-organisms in a 30 ml daily serving. As a live, unpasteurised product, its microbial population evolves naturally over time, and the occasional sediment or slight pressure on opening (from natural CO2 production) is a normal sign of this living character, not a quality defect.
How to use & precautions
The recommended dose is 10-30 ml a day, split into 2-3 servings, ideally with meals. The tonic can be drunk neat, as a “shot”, or diluted in water, fruit juice or a smoothie; its fresh, lightly tangy taste makes it easy to fit into a daily routine. If you’re new to fermented foods, start with the lowest dose (10 ml a day) and increase gradually over one to two weeks, letting the body adjust gently. Shake the bottle lightly before use to resuspend any sediment.
Store between 8°C and 25°C, away from direct light; once opened, consume ideally within 6 weeks, and refrigeration can slightly slow the fermentation process. Made in Germany (Chiemgau, Bavaria) to HACCP and GMP/ISO 22000:2018 standards, with regular batch testing for pesticide residues, preservatives, heavy metals and histamine; certified additive-free, gluten-free, vegetarian and GMO-free.
Contains milk (sheep and goat whey) and barley (barley-based nutrient solution). Although whey is present, the product is labelled lactose-free by the manufacturer, as the lactose is consumed during fermentation. People with allergies or intolerances to these ingredients should take this into account, and consult a healthcare professional if in doubt.
Frequently asked questions
What is the difference between Multi-Impuls and a probiotic capsule?
Multi-Impuls is a living fermented drink containing a complex ecosystem of micro-organisms from a natural cascade fermentation, while capsule probiotics generally contain isolated strains, freeze-dried and packaged in dry form; both approaches have different advantages and can be complementary, with the fermented drink offering micro-organisms in their natural fermentation environment, along with their metabolites.
Is Multi-Impuls suitable for children?
The manufacturer does not list a specific contraindication for children, but we recommend asking a paediatrician or healthcare professional before giving a child a supplement or fermented drink; if approved, a reduced dose (5-10 ml a day) can be a suitable starting point.
