Buy Organic Klamath Powder: wild-harvested blue-green algae from Dynveo

Dynveo Organic Klamath Powder is a wild microalgae harvested from Klamath Lake in Oregon, low-temperature dried using the patented DLT Hydro Dri process. Available at our Paris shop, with Click & Collect and delivery across France and Europe.

Origin and specifics of Klamath algae

Klamath algae (Aphanizomenon flos-aquae, AFA) takes its name from the lake of the same name in Oregon, north-west USA. This volcanic-origin lake is known for the exceptional purity of its waters, fed by underground springs and rivers from the surrounding mountains. Klamath algae grows there exclusively in the wild, setting it apart from spirulina and chlorella, which are pond-cultivated. Harvesting is selective and sustainable, respecting the lake’s ecosystem. Once harvested, the algae undergoes careful microfiltration and low-temperature drying via the patented DLT Hydro Dri technology, preserving the active compounds, particularly phycocyanin and PEA, without altering their structure or effectiveness.

Phenylethylamine and phycocyanin: Klamath’s two key actives

Klamath algae’s reputation rests largely on its content of phenylethylamine (PEA) and phycocyanin. PEA is a natural neurotransmitter present in the human brain, involved in mood regulation and mental wellbeing. Each teaspoon (about 3g) of Dynveo Klamath provides 10mg of PEA, a meaningful amount for a natural food. Phycocyanin, the blue pigment specific to cyanobacteria, is one of the most studied natural antioxidants, and Dynveo Klamath provides 160mg per teaspoon. The synergy between PEA and phycocyanin is particularly interesting: phycocyanin helps stabilise PEA, allowing for a more sustained action in the body.

An exceptionally complete nutritional profile

Beyond PEA and phycocyanin, Klamath algae offers a remarkably diverse nutritional spectrum. It contains the full range of B vitamins, essential minerals, polyphenols, amino acids (including all eight essential ones) and bioactive polysaccharides, making it a versatile supplement that supports overall daily tone and wellbeing. Klamath is also a natural source of chlorophyll, carotenoids and essential fatty acids, notably alpha-linolenic acid (omega-3), all found within a natural, unprocessed food matrix that supports assimilation.

How to use & precautions

Recommended dose is 1 to 3g a day (half to one teaspoon), mixed into a glass of water, fruit juice or smoothie. Those new to Klamath should start with half a teaspoon for the first few days, then increase gradually. Take preferably in the morning or early afternoon, due to PEA’s energising effect. Avoid hot preparations (above 40°C) to preserve phycocyanin and enzymes. The 150g pot offers around 50 to 150 days of use depending on dosage.

Food supplement. Not a substitute for a varied, balanced diet and a healthy lifestyle. Store in a cool place away from light. Do not exceed the recommended daily dose. Keep out of reach of children.

Frequently asked questions

What is the difference between Klamath powder and capsules?

Powder allows finer dosage adjustment and easy addition to smoothies or juices. Capsules offer a convenient, discreet way to take it, without the algae’s characteristic taste. Both formats contain the same quality organic Klamath — the choice depends on your preferences and lifestyle.

Is Klamath different from spirulina?

Yes, Klamath (Aphanizomenon flos-aquae) and spirulina (Arthrospira platensis) are two distinct species. Klamath grows exclusively in the wild in Klamath Lake, while spirulina is pond-cultivated. Klamath stands out for its PEA content and a more diverse spectrum of rare micronutrients. The two microalgae are complementary and can be taken together.
