Hydrapure peach: a tablet that dissolves and fizzes
Hydrapure is Nutripure’s hydration drink, in the form of effervescent tablets to dissolve in water. The peach version is recognisable by its orange pack: it holds 30 tablets in two tubes of 15, enough for 15 days at two tablets a day, the recommended daily dose.
The tablet sinks to the bottom of the glass, fizzes while it dissolves and leaves a lightly sparkling, peach-flavoured drink. The flavouring is natural and, according to Nutripure’s traceability sheet, it is made in France. The colour comes from beetroot juice powder, with no artificial colouring.
Nutripure is a French brand founded in 2017 by Christophe Carrio, five-time world champion in artistic karate and holder of a dietetics diploma, with his brother Florent, an engineer. The company is based in Haute-Garonne, near Toulouse, and Hydrapure is made in France. According to the brand’s traceability sheet, the formula is vegan and contains no allergens.
Five minerals and three vitamins in two tablets
The recommended daily dose is two tablets, i.e. 9.6 g. It provides 403 mg of potassium, 307 mg of sodium, 163 mg of calcium, 102 mg of magnesium and 5.1 mg of zinc, plus 12 mg of vitamin C, 0.21 mg of vitamin B2 and 0.17 mg of vitamin B1. The figures are identical to those of the red berries version: only the flavouring and a few taste ingredients change.
Magnesium contributes to electrolyte balance and to the reduction of tiredness and fatigue. Potassium and magnesium contribute to normal functioning of the nervous system and to normal muscle function. Calcium also contributes to normal muscle function as well as to normal energy-yielding metabolism.
Zinc, present at 51% of the reference intakes, contributes to normal acid-base metabolism and to the normal function of the immune system. Vitamins B2 and C contribute to the reduction of tiredness and fatigue, and vitamins B1, B2 and C to normal energy-yielding metabolism. Sodium has no reference intake: yet it is the mineral we lose most in sweat.
Hot days in Paris
When the temperature climbs in the city, you sweat without realising it: on the metro, in a top-floor flat, walking between two appointments. You drink, but often not enough, and always the same lukewarm water.
That is the obvious use for Hydrapure: two tablets in a large bottle of cool water, to drink over the day, for example during a heatwave or on a day when you have not drunk much. Never more than two tablets a day.
The peach taste suits summer well: it is refreshing served cold, with a few ice cubes if you like. At our shop in Paris 12th, we happily suggest it to people who find still water monotonous and want a simple fruit taste.
At the office, a bottle that makes you want to drink
In front of a screen, the hours go by and the bottle stays full. Water that has some taste changes this habit: you notice it on your desk, you come back to it. Prepare your bottle when you wake up, during the day or late in the afternoon, to suit your routine: it is drunk over the day.
The pack says to dissolve two tablets in 250 to 800 ml of water, adjusting the volume to the taste intensity you want: a 750 ml bottle gives a light drink, a large glass a more pronounced taste.
The tube fits in a drawer or a pencil case and closes in one movement. Keep it tightly closed, in a cool, dry place: moisture is what spoils an effervescent tablet fastest.
Hiking and during exercise
On a day’s walk, you sweat for a long time, at a moderate pace, often in the sun. That is where a tube of Hydrapure earns its place in the rucksack: it is light, it does not mind knocks and it saves carrying sachets of powder that spill.
For sport, the dose remains two tablets a day, dissolved in 250 to 800 ml of water and sipped during the activity. On a long day, prepare the bottle at the start with a large volume of water rather than adding tablets: it is simple to organise.
Hydrapure is not an energy drink: 20 kcal for two tablets will not fuel a long outing. Bring your snacks separately. For other ideas for running, cycling or walking, our sport and endurance section brings together the products we stock.
What the recipe contains, sugar included
The ingredients are, in the order on the label: citric acid and malic acid (acidity regulators), cane sugar, sodium bicarbonate, potassium, calcium and magnesium citrates, maltodextrin, glycine, natural peach flavouring, zinc gluconate, beetroot juice powder (colouring), vitamin C, steviol glycosides (sweetener), vitamins B2 and B1.
So Hydrapure contains sugar. The amount is small, 1.32 g of sugars for two tablets, and it is complemented by a sweetener derived from stevia. If you watch your sugar intake, count it as a small part of the day rather than as zero.
Nutripure points out that it is recommended to drink at least 1.5 litres of water a day. The product is for adults only. Pregnant or breastfeeding women, older people and people with kidney disease are advised to ask a health professional for advice before using it.

Where can I buy it in Paris?
At 10 rue Théophile Roussel, in Paris 12th, Tuesday to Saturday from 9:30 am to 6:30 pm, two minutes from Ledru-Rollin metro station. No shipping: purchase in the shop or online order with collection at the shop.
Herba Barona’s tip — when hiking, let your tablets dissolve in the open bottle before closing it. The effervescence releases gas: in a bottle closed too soon, the pressure builds up and the cap pops off when you open it. A minute’s wait is enough.
