The resin of the Indian frankincense tree contains a whole family of boswellic acids. The best known is AKBA, acetyl-11-keto-beta-boswellic acid. The extract in AKBA30 is first concentrated to 70% boswellic acids, then selected so that 30% of them are AKBA.

In practice each capsule provides 37 mg of AKBA, and three capsules 111 mg. An ordinary resin extract contains only a few per cent: not a better or worse extract, simply a different standardisation criterion.

A joint never holds itself up: muscles keep it in place and bones carry it. That is why the formula adds magnesium of marine origin and vitamin D, which contribute to normal muscle function and to the maintenance of normal bones. Three capsules provide 75 mg of magnesium and 2.5 µg of vitamin D3.

The vitamin D3 comes from lichen, a plant source, rather than sheep’s wool. Each capsule also contains 100 mg of blackcurrant leaf powder. Boswellia serrata helps maintain healthy, flexible joints.

1 to 3 capsules a day with a large glass of water, ideally with a meal. Depending on the dose, the tub lasts from 40 days to four months.

For adults only. If you take medication, especially blood thinners or anti-inflammatories, ask your doctor or pharmacist first, and allow for any vitamin D you already take.
