Buy Colostrum: nature’s most complex biological substance
Colostrum by SIHO, in 60 capsules, is the first milk produced by mammals in the 24–48 hours after birth — a unique biological concentrate of immunoglobulins, lactoferrin, growth factors and bioactive peptides. Available at our Paris shop, with Click & Collect and delivery across France and Europe.
What makes colostrum unique
Bovine colostrum contains up to 100 times more antibodies than mature milk, with IgG making up 70–80% of its immunoglobulins (biologically compatible with the human immune system), 5–10 times more lactoferrin than mature milk, growth factors (IGF-1, TGF-β) supporting cell and tissue regeneration, proline-rich polypeptides that help modulate immune response, and prebiotic oligosaccharides that feed beneficial gut bacteria.
Colostrum and gut health
The small intestine is lined by a single layer of epithelial cells across roughly 300 m², separating the body from gut contents. Colostrum’s growth factors (TGF-β, EGF) support the proliferation and repair of this lining, secretory IgA forms a protective coating against pathogens, lactoferrin supports a balanced microbiota, and oligosaccharides feed beneficial gut bacteria — which is why colostrum is often paired with probiotics for a complete gut-health approach.
Colostrum for athletes
Intense exercise triggers an “immune window” of reduced defences for 3–72 hours post-effort; colostrum’s IgG helps support this window, its growth factors support muscle micro-tear repair, and it may help maintain gut barrier integrity during intense endurance exercise. Colostrum is permitted by the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) — it is not on the prohibited substances list.
How to use & precautions
Take 2 capsules a day, ideally in the morning on an empty stomach (20–30 minutes before breakfast) to minimise gastric-acid exposure of the immunoglobulins. 60 capsules gives a 1-month course; a 2–3 month course is recommended, particularly in autumn-winter.
Contains milk protein. Not recommended for people with a cow’s milk protein allergy. Not recommended for pregnant women without medical advice. Note: lactose intolerance is often compatible with colostrum, but a milk protein allergy is not.
Frequently asked questions
Is colostrum suitable for people with lactose intolerance?
Colostrum contains very little lactose compared with mature milk, so most lactose-intolerant people tolerate it well — however it does contain milk protein, so it is not suitable for those with a milk protein allergy.
Is colostrum sourcing ethical for the calves?
Calves are always fed first — only the colostrum surplus, produced beyond what the calf can consume, is used for the supplement.
