What is apple cider vinegar
Apple cider vinegar is obtained through double fermentation of apple juice: an alcoholic fermentation that converts sugars into alcohol, followed by an acetic fermentation carried out by Acetobacter aceti bacteria, converting the alcohol into acetic acid — an ancestral process used since antiquity.
Traditional uses
Digestive support: apple cider vinegar is traditionally used to support digestive comfort, with its acetic acid reputed to stimulate gastric secretions.
Acid-base balance: despite its acidic taste, apple cider vinegar is considered alkalising once metabolised, thanks to alkaline minerals such as potassium, calcium and magnesium.
Vitality: rich in amino acids and minerals, it is traditionally associated with general vitality support.
Weight management: the acetic acid and pectin it contains are reputed to support satiety, often used alongside broader weight-management routines.
Capsules vs. liquid vinegar
Capsules offer a precise dose (1,300 mg per 3 capsules) with a neutral taste, no contact with tooth enamel, easy portability, long shelf stability and good digestive tolerance thanks to gradual release — 200 capsules give over 3 months of use. Liquid vinegar remains useful for cooking and external use, but has variable dosing, a strong sour taste, and a risk of enamel erosion.
