A more indulgent hazelnut than before
Nutripure has reworked its hazelnut recipe: the brand now presents it as more indulgent and more intense than the previous one. Think of the taste of roasted hazelnut, the one you find in a chocolate spread or a praline, rather than the dry note of a plain nut.
It is a comforting flavour, popular with those who drink their protein in the morning or mid-afternoon, when you feel like something sweet. It goes well with milk, whether cow’s milk or plant milk, and stays pleasant at room temperature, whereas a fruity flavouring calls for a well-chilled drink.
Worth knowing: the ingredient list contains no hazelnut. The taste comes from a blend of natural flavourings, and the Nutripure traceability sheet states that the product is allergen-free.
The idea: a neutral base, the flavour of your choice
Nutripure offers its protein and collagen powders with no added flavour, and lets everyone choose their own taste with these small tubs of flavouring. That way you keep a single large pouch of base, and you can switch from hazelnut to a fruity flavour from one day to the next without buying more protein.
This system has another advantage: you set the intensity yourself. Some are happy with a light note, others want a frankly flavoured shaker. With a protein that is already flavoured, that adjustment is impossible.
At our shop in Paris 12th, it is often the question of taste that makes people hesitate in front of an unflavoured protein. A tub of flavouring alongside usually settles the matter.
Which Nutripure powders to use it with
The flavouring is designed for the brand’s powders. The most common is the Whey Isolate Native Nutripure, whose very discreet milky taste leaves plenty of room for the hazelnut. It also suits collagen peptides, such as the unflavoured Peptan® collagen, which dissolves in water without leaving any taste, and the unflavoured organic plant protein, whose slightly cereal-like character goes rather well with hazelnut.
Nutripure insists on one point, and we pass it on: the flavouring is never consumed on its own and is not meant to flavour anything other than the brand’s powders. All the preparation ideas below therefore start from a dose of protein. The brand’s other unflavoured bases are gathered on our Nutripure page.
How many scoops to use
The scoop supplied in the tub holds 1 ml, i.e. 0.5 g of flavouring. On the label, Nutripure starts from 3 scoops for 30 g of whey isolate and one scoop for 10 g of collagen peptides. On its website, the brand widens the range: 3 to 5 scoops for whey, 1 to 2 for peptides, in 250 ml of water or plant milk.
Our advice is to start low. Hazelnut is a fairly strong flavour, and too generous a dose can become cloying over a large glass. Make a first shaker with 3 scoops, then adjust one scoop at a time over the following days.
In terms of yield, the 50 g tub holds 100 scoops. At 3 scoops per whey shaker, that makes about 33 preparations; at one scoop per glass of peptides, around a hundred.
Simple preparation ideas
The morning shaker: 30 g of whey isolate, 250 ml of almond milk, 3 scoops of hazelnut, a few seconds of shaking. It is the simplest version, and often the one people stick with.
The protein iced coffee: in a shaker, a cooled espresso, 200 ml of cold milk, a dose of whey and 2 to 3 scoops of hazelnut, with two ice cubes. Coffee and hazelnut naturally go together, like a hazelnut latte on a café terrace.
The porridge: cook your oat flakes in water or milk, let them cool for a minute, then stir in half a dose of whey and 2 scoops of flavouring. Add the protein off the heat, otherwise it tends to form lumps.
The indulgent blend: if you also have Nutripure’s chocolate flavouring, one scoop of each in a whey made with milk gives a taste close to chocolate hazelnut.
Hazelnut or fruity: choosing your flavouring in Paris
Nutripure flavourings fall into two families. The indulgent ones, such as hazelnut, vanilla or chocolate, are happily drunk with milk and at any time of day. The fruity ones, such as the lime-mango flavouring, are better suited to cool water and collagen peptides. Many customers keep a tub from each family for variety.
For storage, close the tub tightly after each use and keep it somewhere dry, away from heat and light: a sweetened powder that takes on moisture ends up forming a block. The date and batch number are shown under the tub.

Frequently asked questions
Does the flavouring contain hazelnut?
No, the ingredients are maltodextrin, natural flavourings and stevia. The Nutripure traceability sheet declares it allergen-free.
Is it sweet?
Yes, slightly, thanks to stevia. One scoop contains roughly 0.4 g of carbohydrates according to the brand’s indicative values, which is negligible in a shaker.
Can I add it to another brand’s protein?
Nutripure designed it for its own unflavoured powders and advises against any other use. We follow that instruction.
Where can I find it in Paris?
In our shop at 10 rue Théophile Roussel, in Paris 12th, near Ledru-Rollin metro station (line 8), Tuesday to Saturday from 9:30 am to 6:30 pm. You can also reserve it online and collect it in store, depending on the stock shown on this page.
Herba Barona’s tip — for a hazelnut whey with real body, make it with a slightly creamy drink such as almond or oat milk rather than water: the hazelnut comes through much better, without having to add extra scoops.
