Phycocyanine, from Lake Chad to the capsule
Spirulina, from which phycocyanine is extracted, has been eaten for centuries: communities around Lake Chad harvest it and dry it into cakes, and Spanish chroniclers already described the Aztecs gathering it on Lake Texcoco.
