Quali-C is vitamin C manufactured by DSM Nutritional Products in Scotland via a controlled biofermentation process meeting the strictest pharmaceutical standards — an internationally recognised benchmark. The process uses plant-based raw materials and no heavy industrial solvents, guaranteeing purity above 99%, with no solvent residue, nanoparticles, GMOs or allergens, and a far better environmental footprint than the Asian-produced vitamin C that dominates the budget market. EFSA has validated numerous health claims for vitamin C: contribution to normal immune function, reduction of tiredness and fatigue, protection of cells from oxidative stress, contribution to normal collagen formation for the normal function of bones, cartilage, gums, skin and blood vessels, and improved absorption of non-haem iron. As a water-soluble antioxidant, it neutralises free radicals in the body’s aqueous environment, complementing fat-soluble antioxidants like vitamin E.

Dissolve one level scoop (1g) in a large glass of cold or lukewarm water, fruit juice or other cold drink — never a hot drink, as heat degrades vitamin C. Consume immediately after dissolving. Usual maintenance dose is 500mg to 1g a day, preferably in the morning; up to 2g a day can be split into two doses during higher-demand periods. Reseal tightly and store in a cool, dry place away from light; use within 3 months of opening.

Generally very well tolerated. At high doses (over 2g/day) some may experience transient digestive discomfort. People with oxalate kidney stones should use with caution under medical supervision, as should those with haemochromatosis, since vitamin C increases iron absorption. Keep out of reach of young children. Seek medical advice if pregnant, breastfeeding, or on medication.
