Buy Collagen Mix: triple collagen types I, II and III
Nutrimuscle’s Collagen Mix 500 g combines three types of collagen — I, II and III — using the patented Peptan and Colartix technologies, made in France for comprehensive joint, skin and bone support. Available at our Paris shop, with Click & Collect and delivery across France and Europe.
Why collagen, and the three types in Collagen Mix
Collagen is the most abundant protein in the body, making up around 30% of total protein mass and forming the structural framework of skin, bone, tendons, ligaments, cartilage and blood vessels. From around age 25, the body’s natural collagen production starts to decline gradually, at an estimated 1-1.5% a year, accelerating after 40 and becoming particularly noticeable after menopause in women.
The human body contains at least 28 different collagen types, but three make up the vast majority of total collagen. Type I, the most abundant (90% of total collagen), is found mainly in skin, tendons, ligaments, bone and dentin, and is supplied here by Peptan, ROUSSELOT’s patented technology — each 10 g dose contains 9625 mg of Peptan Type I. Type II is the main component of joint cartilage; Collagen Mix uses Colartix, a native type II collagen that retains its three-dimensional helical structure, working through a different mechanism from hydrolysed collagen by interacting with the gut immune system — each dose provides 1000 mg of Colartix Type II. Type III complements type I, found in skin, blood vessels, lungs and internal organs, and is naturally present in the Peptan formula.
Peptan and Colartix: patented technologies
Peptan is a collagen peptide brand developed by ROUSSELOT, a Dutch company founded in 1891 and now one of the world’s leading collagen and gelatine producers; Peptan peptides are obtained through controlled enzymatic hydrolysis, breaking collagen protein into low-molecular-weight peptides (around 2000-5000 Daltons) for rapid intestinal absorption, reaching target tissues within hours of ingestion.
Colartix is a patented ingredient based on native type II collagen from chicken sternum; unlike hydrolysed collagens, Colartix retains its native helical structure, allowing it to interact with Peyer’s patches in the small intestine — a mechanism called oral tolerisation that helps modulate the immune system’s response toward joint cartilage. Each dose also contains 185 mg of chondroitin sulfate, a glycosaminoglycan naturally found in cartilage that supports its lubrication and resistance.
How to use & precautions
The recommended dose is 10 g a day (one level scoop), dissolved in a drink of your choice — water, fruit juice, a smoothie, coffee, tea or even soup. The powder has a neutral taste that won’t alter your drink’s flavour. It can be taken at any time of day, though many people prefer it first thing on an empty stomach or with breakfast for optimal absorption. For noticeable results, a course of at least 8-12 weeks is generally recommended; skin effects are often seen sooner (4-8 weeks) than joint effects (8-12 weeks).
This product contains collagen of bovine (Peptan) and avian (Colartix, chicken sternum) origin and is therefore not suitable for vegetarian or vegan diets. People with a chicken or beef allergy should consult a healthcare professional before use. Do not exceed the recommended daily dose. This product does not replace a varied, balanced diet. Store in a cool, dry place, away from light. Reseal the tub after each use.
Frequently asked questions
What is the difference between hydrolysed and native collagen?
Hydrolysed collagen (Peptan) is broken into small peptides for rapid absorption into the blood, reaching target tissues (skin, bone, tendons) directly to stimulate local collagen production. Native collagen (Colartix) keeps its three-dimensional structure and works through an immune mechanism in the gut, specifically beneficial for joints. Collagen Mix combines both approaches for comprehensive action.
Is Collagen Mix suitable for people with lactose or gluten intolerance?
Collagen Mix contains no lactose or gluten. However, it contains collagen of bovine (Peptan) and avian (Colartix) origin, so it isn’t suitable for vegetarian or vegan diets. People with a chicken or beef allergy should consult a healthcare professional before use.
How long before I see results?
Collagen’s effects build up gradually. First results on skin (hydration, radiance) are generally seen after 4-8 weeks of regular use, while joint benefits usually need 8-12 weeks of continuous supplementation. Consistency of use is the key factor for satisfactory results.
