Buy Cod Liver Oil LYSI Iceland: omega-3 and vitamin D
This unflavoured cod liver oil, bottled at 240 ml, is made in Iceland by Lysi. Rich in omega-3 EPA and DHA, vitamin A and vitamin D. Available at our Paris shop, with Click & Collect and delivery across France and Europe.
Why choose Lysi natural cod liver oil
Lysi has been an Icelandic reference in cod liver oil production since 1938. The natural range stands out for having no added flavouring: just the mild, marine taste of wild cod caught in the cold waters of the North Atlantic. Production, from catch to bottling, is entirely managed by Lysi in Iceland, ensuring exceptional freshness. The TOTOX index (a measure of oxidation) stays below 12 after packaging, a mark of a stable, non-rancid oil with a pleasant taste. In Paris, you will find this product at Herba Barona, a specialist supplement shop since 2006.
Benefits of omega-3 EPA and DHA
EPA (eicosapentaenoic acid) and DHA (docosahexaenoic acid) are long-chain omega-3 fatty acids essential to the body’s functioning. According to EFSA, DHA contributes to the maintenance of normal brain function and normal vision (with a daily intake of 250 mg). EPA and DHA contribute to normal heart function (with a daily intake of 250 mg).
Natural vitamin D and vitamin A
Cod liver oil is one of the most concentrated natural sources of vitamin D. One teaspoon covers 200% of the reference intake. Vitamin D contributes to the maintenance of normal bones, normal muscle function, and normal function of the immune system. Vitamin A (250 µg per dose) contributes to the maintenance of normal vision and normal skin. This natural combination of vitamin A and vitamin D is one of the great benefits of traditional cod liver oil.
How to use & precautions
Take 1 teaspoon (5 ml) per day, ideally with a meal for better absorption. Since the natural taste has no added flavouring, some people prefer taking it neat, while others mix it into a cold vinaigrette or yoghurt. Refrigerate after opening and use within 8 weeks. Reseal the bottle tightly after each use.
Not recommended for pregnant women (due to vitamin A intake), nor for people on anticoagulant treatment without medical advice. Keep out of reach of children.
