Propolis is a complex substance with over 300 identified natural compounds. Resins and balms make up around 50-55%, containing flavonoids (pinocembrin, galangin, chrysin), phenolic acids (caffeic acid, ferulic acid) and esters — the main compounds behind propolis’s biological properties. Beeswax makes up 25-35% of raw propolis, though residual wax is minimal in this carefully cleaned Propolia bar. Essential oils (5-10%) give propolis its resinous, balsamic, slightly peppery aroma, and the profile is rounded out with B vitamins, minerals (zinc, iron, copper, manganese) and amino acids.
