Buy Organic Hemp Protein Powder: 50% complete plant protein

Vegetopie Organic Hemp Protein Powder 500g is a complete plant protein titrated to 50% protein, cold-pressed from organic hemp seeds. Available at our Paris shop, with Click & Collect and delivery across France and Europe.

What is hemp protein, and how is it made?

Hemp protein is a food powder made from hemp seeds, a plant cultivated for millennia for its highly nutrient-dense seeds. To make this powder, the seeds are first cold-pressed to extract the oil. The remaining meal, naturally concentrated in protein, fibre and minerals, is then finely ground into a smooth, even powder. This entirely mechanical process, with no chemical solvent or aggressive heat treatment, preserves the seed’s full nutritional matrix. Unlike isolated proteins, Vegetopie hemp protein is unrefined: it retains its fibre, good fats and minerals, making it a whole, raw food rather than a simple protein concentrate.

A complete protein profile: 50% protein, 20 amino acids

Vegetopie hemp protein delivers 50g of protein per 100g of powder, a remarkable rate for an unisolated plant protein. It contains all 20 amino acids, including the 9 essential ones the body cannot produce itself: leucine, isoleucine and valine (the BCAAs), plus lysine, methionine, phenylalanine, threonine, tryptophan and histidine. This complete amino profile is rare among plant proteins and makes hemp one of the most balanced plant sources. This richness in complete protein contributes to the maintenance and growth of muscle mass, making it a fine choice for athletes and for anyone following a vegetarian or vegan diet.

Omega-3, omega-6 and essential fatty acids

Unlike most protein powders, which are almost fat-free, hemp protein retains a high-quality fat fraction. Its 10g of fat per 100g provides an omega-6/omega-3 ratio close to 3:1, considered optimal by nutritionists, including alpha-linolenic acid (ALA, an omega-3) and linoleic acid (LA, an omega-6), two essential fatty acids the body cannot synthesise. Hemp also contains gamma-linolenic acid (GLA), a rare omega-6 usually found in evening primrose or borage oil. This natural presence of essential fatty acids clearly sets hemp protein apart from refined animal proteins.

Fibre, minerals and digestibility

With around 10g of fibre per 100g, hemp protein contributes significantly to recommended daily fibre intake, supporting digestive comfort and gut microbiota balance. Hemp is also a good source of minerals — magnesium, iron, zinc, phosphorus and manganese are all present in notable amounts. It is naturally free of gluten, lactose and the main allergens (soy, eggs, peanuts), and is generally well tolerated by sensitive digestions.

How to use & precautions

Mix 1 to 2 tablespoons (15 to 30g) of hemp powder into a shaker with water, plant milk or fruit juice. For athletes, it makes an excellent post-workout supplement, ideally taken within 30 minutes of exercise. Its mild, slightly nutty taste pairs particularly well with banana, red berries, cocoa and peanut butter. In the kitchen, it blends easily into smoothies, porridge, protein pancakes, energy balls and homemade cereal bars, or can simply be sprinkled over yoghurt, compote or salad.

Food supplement. Not a substitute for a varied, balanced diet and a healthy lifestyle. Store the bag in a cool, dry place away from light, and reseal well after each use. Do not exceed the recommended daily dose. Keep out of reach of children.

Frequently asked questions

Is hemp protein suitable for athletes?

Yes. With 50% protein and a complete essential amino acid profile including BCAAs (leucine, isoleucine, valine), it contributes to the maintenance and growth of muscle mass. Its richness in omega-3, fibre and minerals such as magnesium and iron offers additional support for recovery, and it’s especially popular with vegan athletes seeking a natural, additive-free protein source.

What is the difference between hemp protein and whey protein?

Whey is animal-derived and very concentrated in protein (80-90%), but lacks fibre and omega-3. Hemp protein, plant-based, provides 50% protein along with fibre, essential fatty acids and minerals. It is naturally lactose-free, suits people with intolerances, and remains a sustainable, eco-friendly option.
