Beta-Alanine Nutripure in Paris: pure CarnoSyn® in powder form
A single-ingredient powder, patented CarnoSyn® beta-alanine, measured at 3 g per scoop in a 90 g tub, with no additive or flavouring. Part of the Nutripure range at Herba Barona in Paris.
One powder, one ingredient
The label of Nutripure Beta-Alanine fits on one line: CarnoSyn® beta-alanine. No flavouring, sweetener, anti-caking agent or colouring. The 90 g tub holds a fine white powder and a 3 g scoop, i.e. 30 scoops: one month at one scoop a day, or fifteen days at two.
The powder is vegan, gluten-free, lactose-free and has no added sugars. Its taste is discreet and slightly sweet, it dissolves quickly without lumps, and a single-ingredient product makes it easy to know exactly what you take and to adjust the amount.
Beta-alanine, the precursor of carnosine
Beta-alanine is an amino acid the body makes itself, but it is not used to build proteins. Its known role lies elsewhere: combined with another amino acid, histidine, it allows the body to form carnosine, a small dipeptide stored mainly in skeletal muscle, especially in the fast fibres used in short, intense efforts.
In that pair, beta-alanine is the one available in the smallest amount, which is why it interests people who do strength training, combat sports, CrossFit or endurance sports with sprints. In food it comes mainly from animal products (beef, pork, poultry, tuna, salmon), so vegetarians and vegans get very little of it, hence their interest in a vegan powder.
Why Nutripure chose CarnoSyn®
CarnoSyn® is a patented beta-alanine developed by the American company Natural Alternatives International; the name appears on the tub with the registered trademark. It is one of the most documented raw materials in sports nutrition, with full batch-by-batch traceability, and Nutripure publishes a traceability file for this product.
The beta-alanine is then packaged in France, in a white tub. In a product that contains a single ingredient, the quality of the raw material is everything: there is nothing else in the tub to hide a less pure or less stable powder.
How to take it every day
Nutripure recommends 1 to 2 scoops a day, i.e. 3 to 6 g, dissolved in a glass of water and taken during meals. Start with 3 g a day for at least one month, then move up to 6 g if you are used to beta-alanine; the suggested course lasts three months. It is taken every day, rest days included, because carnosine levels in muscle change slowly. At 6 g, split the amount over two or three meals.
About fifteen minutes after a dose, some people feel a tingling on the face, neck, hands or scalp. This sensation, called paresthesia, is well known, harmless and usually fades within an hour; it depends mainly on the amount taken at once, which is why splitting works well. If you use a pre-workout that already contains beta-alanine, such as Nutripure’s Pure Workout, add up the amounts to stay within 3 to 6 g a day. For adults only; pregnant or breastfeeding women should ask a health professional first.

Frequently asked questions
Is beta-alanine the same as alanine?
No. Alanine (L-alanine) is an amino acid that builds proteins. Beta-alanine is a close relative that is not part of proteins and that the body uses, with histidine, to make carnosine.
How long does a 90 g tub last?
The tub holds 30 scoops of 3 g: one month at one scoop a day, fifteen days at two. A three-month course at 3 g a day therefore takes three tubs.
When should I take beta-alanine?
During meals, in a glass of water, split if needed: at 6 g a day, two or three doses spread over the day’s meals. Take it every day during the course, including days without training.
Where can I find Nutripure Beta-Alanine in Paris?
