One of astaxanthin’s most valued qualities relates to skin protection and beauty. Thanks to its strong antioxidant activity, astaxanthin helps neutralise the free radicals generated by UV exposure, offering a form of “inside-out” photoprotection — it does not replace sunscreen. How long before astaxanthin works?

Can astaxanthin replace sunscreen?
