Three months of magnesium in a single bottle
Nutripure recommends taking its magnesium taurine B6 as a course of three to six months. The 180-capsule bottle matches the first step exactly: at 2 capsules a day it lasts 90 days, and two bottles are enough to reach six months. The label puts it plainly: “1 bottle, 3 months”.
It is the same formula as the 60-capsule bottle, capsule for capsule. Only the quantity changes. The small size is mainly for trying the product; once you know you will take it for several months, the large bottle saves you coming back every month.
The net content is 157 g, i.e. 90 servings. The white bottle fits just as well in a kitchen cupboard as on a bedside table.
What 2 capsules contain
The daily dose of 2 capsules provides 240 mg of magnesium (64% of the reference intakes), 1 mg of vitamin B6 (71%) and 300 mg of taurine. These are the figures from the table published by Nutripure, reproduced exactly in the Composition tab on this page.
The magnesium comes from a buffered magnesium bisglycinate. Nutripure gives the breakdown: 80% magnesium bisglycinate, that is magnesium bound to glycine, an amino acid, and 20% magnesium oxide. This blend makes it possible to fit more magnesium into each capsule; the brand states it in black and white, so you know exactly what you are taking.
The rest of the list is short: taurine, vitamin B6 in the form of pyridoxine hydrochloride, a little coconut flour, and the capsule shell, made of pullulan, a material of plant origin. The product is vegan and contains none of the allergens that must be declared.
Magnesium and vitamin B6: their recognised role
Magnesium contributes to the reduction of tiredness and fatigue, to normal energy-yielding metabolism, to the normal functioning of the nervous system and to normal psychological function. It also contributes to normal muscle function, to normal protein synthesis, to electrolyte balance and to the maintenance of normal bones and teeth.
Vitamin B6 also contributes to the reduction of tiredness and fatigue, to normal energy-yielding metabolism and to the normal functioning of the nervous system. It also contributes to the regulation of hormonal activity, to normal protein and glycogen metabolism and to the normal function of the immune system.
These are the wordings adopted by European regulations for these two nutrients, and the only ones we use. If you are interested in vitamin B6 on its own, our vitamin B6 section brings together the other products in our Paris shop.
Taurine, the third ingredient
A sulphur-containing amino acid, taurine is made by the body itself, and it is also found in food, mainly in meat, fish and seafood. People who eat little or none of these therefore get less of it from their plate.
Nutripure adds 300 mg per daily dose. As the brand points out, taurine is not a stimulant: its reputation comes from energy drinks, which contain it alongside caffeine. This bottle contains no caffeine and no stimulating plant, so you can take your capsules in the evening without a second thought.
For those who prefer to dose taurine separately, as a powder, we also offer it in our taurine section.
Keeping up a long course, day after day
Nutripure recommends 2 capsules a day with a glass of water, preferably split: one capsule with lunch, one with dinner. If that is not possible, take the 2 capsules together with dinner. The bottle’s label also says “preferably in the evening”.
Over three months, regularity matters more than the exact time. The simplest approach is to link your intake to a meal you never skip. If you have lunch at work, slip a few capsules into a small box and leave the bottle at home, away from moisture.
If you find capsules hard to swallow, Nutripure says you can open them and mix the powder into a yoghurt or a fruit compote. The taste is then slightly bitter. During a busy period, magnesium is easy to combine with the products in our energy and vitality section.
Precautions and storage
Do not exceed 2 capsules a day. The product is for adults only and must be kept out of reach of children. Pregnant or breastfeeding women are advised to ask a healthcare professional before taking it, and Nutripure advises against this product in case of kidney failure, where medical advice is essential before any intake.
If you already take another supplement containing magnesium or vitamin B6, add up the doses before adding a second one. Nutripure presents its Multivitamins as a complement to this magnesium; drop by our shop in Paris with your boxes if you would like us to look at the labels together.
Keep the bottle tightly closed, in a cool, dry place away from light, which matters all the more for a bottle you open for three months. The best-before date and batch number are printed on the bottom of the bottle.

Frequently asked questions
Should I choose the 180-capsule bottle or the 60-capsule one?
The formula is identical. The 60-capsule bottle lasts one month and lets you try it; the 180-capsule bottle covers the three months that Nutripure recommends as a minimum for a course.
How long does the bottle last?
90 days at the recommended dose of 2 capsules a day. For a six-month course, allow two bottles.
Can the capsules be opened?
Yes. Nutripure says you can pour the powder into a yoghurt or a fruit compote if the capsule is hard to swallow. The taste is slightly bitter.
Is this magnesium suitable for vegans?
Yes. The capsule is made of pullulan, of plant origin, and Nutripure presents the product as vegan and free from allergens.
Herba Barona’s tip — on the day you open the bottle, write the date on the lid with a marker. A three-month course is easy to lose track of after a few weeks: with the date in front of you, you know straight away whether you are on schedule, and when there will be about a month of capsules left.
