Magnesium Bisglycinate Nutripure in Paris: with taurine and B6
Nutripure’s Magnesium Bisglycinate combines a chelated magnesium with taurine and vitamin B6, in 60 vegetable capsules. Available in Paris at Herba Barona, from the Nutripure range.
Bisglycinate, the best-tolerated form
Many people have given up on magnesium after an unpleasant digestive experience. In almost every case the form was to blame: oxide and chloride, the cheapest on the market, are also the most irritating. Sulphate raises similar issues, while organic forms such as citrate or glycerophosphate sit in the middle.
Bisglycinate works differently. The magnesium is chelated, that is bound to two glycine molecules that wrap around it. This complex crosses the intestinal wall by a different route from classic mineral salts, which avoids drawing water into the gut, the cause of the well-known laxative effect.
Taurine and vitamin B6: why this trio
Taurine is a sulphur-containing amino acid found naturally in the body, notably in the heart muscle, the retina and the nervous system. Despite its energy-drink reputation, it is not a stimulant. It is involved in the movement of minerals across cell membranes, which is why it is so often paired with magnesium.
Vitamin B6 contributes to the regulation of hormonal activity, to the normal functioning of the nervous system, to normal energy-yielding metabolism, to normal psychological function and to the reduction of tiredness and fatigue. Magnesium also contributes to the reduction of tiredness and fatigue and to the normal functioning of the nervous system. The B6 dose remains moderate, which matters: prolonged excess of this vitamin is not harmless.
When people come looking for it
People ask for magnesium when life gets busy. Athletes lose minerals through sweat, and prolonged stress increases urinary losses of magnesium. If stress is your main concern, our stress section brings together other options.
Women are the other big group, especially in the days before menstruation; the vitamin B6 in this formula contributes to the regulation of hormonal activity. In every case, a few weeks of regular intake make more sense than an occasional capsule: magnesium reserves do not refill in one evening.
How to take it
Two capsules a day with a meal and a large glass of water. You can take one in the morning and one in the evening, or both at once; splitting suits people with a sensitive digestion. The 60-capsule bottle lasts one month, and two to three months is the most common pattern, possibly repeated after a break.

Frequently asked questions
Capsules or powder?
Capsules come with a fixed dose but can be taken anywhere. Nutripure’s powder combines three forms of magnesium and can be dosed finely. This version has the advantage of adding taurine and B6.
Is taurine a stimulant?
No. That reputation comes from energy drinks, where the stimulating effect comes from caffeine, not taurine. Taurine is an amino acid naturally present in the body.
Can I take it in the evening?
Yes, without any problem. Many people even prefer the evening. None of the three ingredients is a stimulant.
Where can I find it in Paris?
At Herba Barona, 10 rue Théophile Roussel, Paris 12th, Tuesday to Saturday, between Ledru-Rollin and Bastille metro stations.
