Glycine NAC SIHO in Paris: the two glutathione precursors in powder form
Glycine NAC by SIHO combines 2 g of glycine and 600 mg of N-acetylcysteine per dose, the two amino acids the body needs to make its own glutathione. Available in Paris at Herba Barona.

Glutathione, and why you don’t take it directly
Glutathione is the main antioxidant our cells make themselves. It’s present in every cell, with a particularly high concentration in the liver. Its level drops with age, and it’s one of the most closely watched markers in ageing research.
The problem with glutathione capsules is that they’re largely broken down by digestion before reaching the cells. Hence the more logical idea of supplying the body with the building blocks it needs to make its own. Glutathione is made of three amino acids: glutamate, cysteine and glycine. Glutamate is never in short supply. Cysteine and glycine often are.
N-acetylcysteine (NAC) is the stable form of cysteine, the limiting factor in synthesis. Glycine is the second piece. Supplying both together is the principle behind this formula.
The GlyNAC combination, born from an American protocol
The glycine + NAC combination, often shortened to «GlyNAC», was highlighted by work from Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, which studied it in older adults over several months. This work made the combination popular in longevity circles, and that’s where SIHO started from.
The SIHO formula uses a simple ratio: 2 g of glycine to 600 mg of NAC per day, i.e. 2.6 g of powder. Nothing else. No flavouring, no sweetener, no filler: the 156 g pouch contains only the two amino acids and covers two months at one dose a day.
Who it’s for
SIHO designed Glycine NAC for people over 50, those feeling an energy dip over the years or wanting to support their natural antioxidant capacity. It’s also a product valued by athletes after exercise, since glycine is also a useful amino acid for recovery and sleep.
Glycine alone is already well known among our Paris customers, often taken in the evening for its slightly sweet taste and calming effect. NAC, on the other hand, is more familiar to micronutrition regulars. Combining them avoids buying two separate tubs.
How to take it
One 2.6 g dose in the morning on an empty stomach, in a large glass of water, or after exercise for athletes. The powder dissolves easily. The taste is slightly sweet (the glycine) with a sulphurous edge (the NAC): mixed with lemon juice or sparkling water, it goes down very well.
SIHO recommends a 60-day course, which can be repeated. For adults only. Not recommended for pregnant or breastfeeding women. People on medication should ask their doctor’s advice, as NAC can interact with certain drugs.
Glycine, an amino acid apart
Glycine is the smallest amino acid, and one of the most abundant in the body: it makes up nearly a third of collagen. Our grandparents consumed plenty of it without knowing, through bone broths, offal, chicken skin and gelatinous cuts we no longer eat. A modern diet centred on muscle meat and fillet provides noticeably less.
That’s why glycine alone has a loyal following in our Paris shop: people take it in the evening, enjoy its sweet taste, add it to a herbal tea. It combines naturally with collagen and bone broth, which are its dietary sources.
NAC, meanwhile, is less known to the general public but very familiar to micronutrition enthusiasts, who take it to support glutathione production. Combining both in a single pouch, at the GlyNAC protocol dose, is simply more practical and cheaper than two separate tubs.
Glycine NAC in SIHO’s Advanced range
Glycine NAC is part of the Advanced range, molecules that target the deep mechanisms of ageing, alongside NAD+ and Spermidine. The three complement each other: NAD+ for cellular energy, spermidine for recycling, GlyNAC for antioxidant defence. SIHO is a French brand, packaged in Brittany.

Frequently asked questions
Where to buy glycine and NAC in Paris?
Glycine NAC SIHO is on sale at Herba Barona, 10 rue Théophile Roussel, Paris 12e, and on this site.
Why not take glutathione directly?
Swallowed glutathione is largely broken down by digestion. Supplying its precursors, glycine and NAC, lets the body make it where it’s needed.
How many doses are in the pouch?
The 156 g pouch contains 60 doses of 2.6 g, i.e. two months.
Can it be taken in the evening?
Yes. Glycine is in fact often taken in the evening. SIHO recommends the morning on an empty stomach for absorption, but evening works too if that’s easier for you.
Herba Barona’s advice — If you already take glycine alone in the evening, keep the habit: this formula simply replaces your glycine tub while adding NAC.
Food supplement. Not a substitute for a varied and balanced diet or a healthy lifestyle. Do not exceed the recommended daily dose. Keep out of reach of children.
