GABA Nutripure in Paris: 750 mg of gamma-aminobutyric acid in vegetable capsules

Nutripure GABA is a single-ingredient product: 750 mg of gamma-aminobutyric acid per 2 vegetable capsules, so 90 days from one jar of 180 capsules. Available in Paris at Herba Barona, from the Nutripure range.

One active ingredient, a dose shown on the label

Nutripure GABA belongs to the brand’s single-ingredient range: one active ingredient per jar, clearly dosed on the label. Each capsule contains 375 mg of gamma-aminobutyric acid, and the recommended daily intake of 2 capsules provides 750 mg. The jar holds 180 capsules, net weight 118 g, which means 90 servings of 2 capsules, or three months at the rate indicated by the brand.

The point of a single ingredient is clarity. You know exactly what you are taking and in what amount, and you can add it to an existing routine without doubling up on other ingredients by mistake. That is why it sits in our amino acids section, alongside other single-ingredient formulas.

GABA, an amino acid apart

GABA stands for gamma-aminobutyric acid. It is an amino acid that the body makes itself, from glutamate. Unlike the amino acids found in dietary protein, it is not used to build proteins: it is described as “non-proteinogenic”. In biology, GABA is known above all as one of the main neurotransmitters of the central nervous system, in other words one of the molecules that carry messages between neurons.

On the regulatory side, we need to be precise: in Europe, GABA taken as a food supplement has no authorised health claim. So we present this product for what it is, an amino acid in capsules, well dosed and well made, without attributing any effect to it.

Where does GABA in food come from?

GABA is not unique to the human body. It is also found in many foods, in very variable amounts. The best known are fermented products such as miso, tempeh, kimchi and kombucha, as well as germinated brown rice, some legumes, tomatoes, spinach and whole grains.

The content depends on the variety, the fermentation strain and the process, so it is hard to know how much you actually eat in a day. The capsule answers this need for precision: 375 mg per capsule, always the same amount from one jar to the next. It does not replace a varied diet; it adds a constant, measurable intake. Our whole GABA selection is gathered on a dedicated page.

A pullulan capsule and a short formula

The ingredient list fits on one line: gamma-aminobutyric acid, plant-based pullulan capsule, glycine, maltodextrin and acacia gum as a bulking agent. No preservatives, no colourings, no titanium dioxide, no magnesium stearate. Pullulan is a polysaccharide obtained by fermentation; it replaces animal gelatin, so the capsule is entirely plant-based.

The product is vegan, gluten-free, lactose-free and GMO-free, and contains none of the allergens that must be declared. It is made in France, developed and produced in line with the European anti-doping standard EN 17444, and each batch comes with a traceability sheet published by the brand.

How to take it, and where to find it in Paris

Nutripure recommends 2 capsules a day with a glass of water, preferably in the evening: either 1 capsule in the late afternoon or early evening and 1 later in the evening, or both capsules together in the evening. The brand recommends taking it for 3 months, which corresponds exactly to one jar. For adults only. Pregnant or breastfeeding women and people under medical supervision should ask a healthcare professional for advice first. Do not exceed the recommended daily dose and keep the jar out of reach of children.

Nutripure was founded in 2017 in Haute-Garonne, near Toulouse, by Christophe Carrio, five-time world champion in artistic karate and a qualified dietitian, and his brother Florent, an engineer. Herba Barona has been a food supplement shop at 10 rue Théophile Roussel, Paris 12th, since 2006: open Tuesday to Saturday, 9.30 am to 6.30 pm, near Ledru-Rollin (line 8) and Bastille (lines 1, 5, 8) metro stations.
