Vitamin D3 + K2 Nutripure in Paris: two vitamins in drops, in organic olive oil
Vitamin D3 and vitamin K2-MK7 VitaMK7® together in a 20 ml dropper bottle by Nutripure: 3 drops provide 3000 IU of D3 and 37.5 µg of K2, in organic virgin olive oil. Available in Paris at Herba Barona.
Why combine vitamin D3 and vitamin K2
Vitamin D contributes to the normal absorption and use of calcium and phosphorus, to normal blood calcium levels and to the maintenance of normal bones and teeth. Vitamin K also contributes to the maintenance of normal bones.
Each one also has its own role: vitamin D contributes to the normal function of the immune system and to the maintenance of normal muscle function, while vitamin K contributes to normal blood clotting. The K2 used here is the MK-7 form (menaquinone-7), sold under the VitaMK7® name: 37.5 µg per dose, half of the reference intake.
3000 IU a day: a high dose, to be used wisely
Each drop delivers 1000 IU (25 µg) of vitamin D3, so the 3-drop dose provides 3000 IU, or 75 µg, 1500% of the reference intake. This is the maximum level allowed in France for a food supplement: a concentrated product, not a small maintenance dose.
So do not combine this bottle with other sources of vitamin D (multivitamins, cod liver oil, prescribed vials, fortified foods) without talking to your doctor or pharmacist. Nutripure points out that 1 or 2 drops may be enough depending on your needs, and also makes a 1000 IU version of the same formula.
Drops in organic virgin olive oil
Vitamins D3 and K2 are fat-soluble: they dissolve in fat, not in water. Nutripure therefore dissolves them in cold-pressed organic virgin olive oil, with an extract rich in natural tocopherols that keeps the oil stable. Four ingredients in all, with no flavouring, colouring or synthetic preservative.
The amber glass bottle filters the light and the dropper lets you count the dose one drop at a time. The 20 ml hold 150 doses of 3 drops, about five months of daily use.
How to take it, and precautions
3 drops a day, preferably in the morning, on the tongue or in food or a drink, with a meal that contains some fat: butter, cheese, an egg, an avocado or a handful of nuts are enough. Avoid taking it on an empty stomach.
Not suitable for people taking anticoagulants, because of the vitamin K it contains. Pregnant or breastfeeding women should ask a health professional before any supplementation. Keep out of reach of young children.

At 3000 IU per dose, this bottle already reaches the maximum level allowed in France for a supplement. Do not combine it with another source of vitamin D without medical advice.
