Buy Unflavoured Marine Collagen: Naticol powder by Novoma
Novoma’s marine collagen is made from hydrolysed Naticol peptides (Types I and III), enriched with vitamin C, in a neutral-tasting powder — a 284 g jar with scoop gives around 28 days of use. Available at our Paris shop, with Click & Collect and delivery across France and Europe.
What is marine collagen?
Collagen is the most abundant protein in the human body, making up around 30% of total protein. It is a fundamental structural element of skin, bones, tendons, ligaments and cartilage, and from age 25 the body’s natural production gradually declines, a process that speeds up with age. Marine collagen is extracted from fish skin and scales; it differs from bovine collagen in having a molecular structure close to human collagen and an amino-acid profile rich in glycine, proline and hydroxyproline — three amino acids fundamental to the body’s own collagen synthesis. The Naticol used by Novoma is produced by Weishardt, a benchmark name in collagen peptides, from certified sustainably caught fish.
Hydrolysed peptides and bioavailability
Naticol collagen comes as hydrolysed peptides: the protein has been broken into small fragments by enzymatic hydrolysis, a gentle process that preserves amino-acid quality while reducing molecular weight to around 2,000 Daltons. The smaller the peptides, the more easily they cross the intestinal barrier to reach the bloodstream and target tissues, and this hydrolysed form also dissolves far more easily in liquids, hot or cold, without forming lumps — the technology behind Naticol’s reputation as a highly bioavailable collagen.
Skin firmness and hydration
Type I and III collagen are especially present in skin: type I plays a role in structure and firmness, type III in elasticity and blood vessel structure. With age, declining natural production leads to loss of firmness, wrinkles and reduced skin hydration. Vitamin C contributes to normal collagen formation for the normal function of skin (an EFSA-authorised claim), so a daily intake of marine collagen peptides alongside vitamin C supports the maintenance of healthy-looking skin — results build up gradually, and a course of at least 3 months is recommended.
Joints and connective tissue
Beyond skin, marine collagen supports the whole of the connective tissue: tendons, ligaments and cartilage. Active people, or those noticing joint discomfort linked to natural ageing, can find supplementation a useful support. Naticol’s low molecular weight peptides are designed to be easily absorbed, allowing the amino acids to contribute to the maintenance of joint structures, and vitamin C in the formula contributes to normal collagen formation for the normal function of cartilage (an EFSA-authorised claim) — suiting both athletes who put strain on their joints and less active people wanting to preserve joint comfort.
How to use & precautions
Dissolve 2 scoops (about 10.1 g) into 250 ml of your drink of choice, hot or cold: water, coffee, tea, milk, juice or a smoothie. The neutral flavour blends into any preparation without altering the taste; for a perfectly smooth cold drink, use a shaker. It can also be sprinkled onto cereal or mixed into yoghurt. A minimum 3-month course is recommended for lasting results.
Contains fish — not suitable for people with a fish allergy. Reserved for adults; not recommended for pregnant women without medical advice. Do not exceed the recommended daily dose. Food supplements should not replace a varied, balanced diet and a healthy lifestyle. Keep out of reach of children.
Frequently asked questions
How long before I see results?
First effects are generally noticeable after 4 to 8 weeks of regular use. A minimum 3-month course is recommended for lasting results, with daily consistency being the key factor.
Is this collagen suitable for people with allergies?
It contains fish (allergen). It is free from gluten, lactose and soy. People allergic to seafood should avoid it. The formula contains no flavouring and no artificial colouring.
Can it be mixed into a hot drink?
Yes — Naticol hydrolysed peptides dissolve equally well in hot or cold drinks; heat does not degrade peptides that are already hydrolysed. Coffee, tea, soup or hot chocolate all work.
Marine or bovine collagen — which to choose?
Marine collagen (types I and III) is structurally close to human collagen and often shows higher bioavailability thanks to its lower molecular weight. The choice comes down to personal preference and dietary restrictions.
