Fishing is regulated by MSC (Marine Stewardship Council) certification, which imposes strict quotas to protect the marine ecosystem, ensuring full traceability from boat to finished product.

The key feature of krill oil is the phospholipid structure of its omega-3. Unlike fish oil omega-3, which comes as triglycerides requiring bile emulsification before absorption, krill phospholipids are directly water-soluble and cross the intestinal wall easily. Each 2-capsule serving provides 319mg of total omega-3, including 177mg EPA and 83mg DHA, with 661mg of total phospholipids — meaning the body actually uses a greater proportion of the omega-3 ingested.

Beyond omega-3, Superba Boost krill oil provides 83mg of choline per serving, an essential nutrient for synthesising neurotransmitters involved in memory and cognitive function, and also involved in liver metabolism and lipid transport. Natural astaxanthin (100 micrograms per serving), a carotenoid with intense antioxidant power, protects the fragile fatty acids from oxidation and gives krill oil its characteristic red colour. Dose is 2 capsules a day, preferably with a meal containing some fat to optimise absorption. Krill oil combines well with vitamin D3, magnesium or coenzyme Q10 for overall cardiovascular and cognitive support.
