Daily Protein Nutripure in Paris: the everyday protein powder
Milk, free-range egg white and faba bean in a neutral-tasting powder that provides 24 g of protein per serving, to drink or add to your recipes. Available in Paris at Herba Barona, from the Nutripure range.
A protein for every day, not just for the gym
Daily Protein is designed for very ordinary situations: meals eaten on the go, a breakfast with hardly any protein, an afternoon snack that stops at a biscuit. Nutripure intends it for active people, for those who simply want a better-balanced diet, and for adults over 45. Protein contributes to a growth in muscle mass, to the maintenance of muscle mass and to the maintenance of normal bones.
Nutripure is a French brand founded in 2017 in Haute-Garonne, near Toulouse, by Christophe Carrio, five-time world champion in artistic karate with a diploma in dietetics, and his brother Florent, an engineer.
Three protein sources: milk, egg white and faba bean
The formula combines three isolates in equal parts, each 32% of the powder: native milk proteins (isolate, milk of EU origin), egg white from free-range hens (EU) and faba bean protein (EU). Nutripure describes this animal and plant blend as flexitarian.
Milk proteins are naturally rich in leucine and give the drink its creamy texture. Egg white is very low in fat, with a complete essential amino acid profile. The faba bean completes the blend.
What a 30 g serving contains
Two scoops, or 30 g, provide 24 g of protein for 121 kcal. The powder is 81% protein, with 1.0 g of carbohydrate, of which 0.1 g sugars, 1.38 g of fat and 0.33 g of salt per serving. Each serving also brings 10.4 g of essential amino acids, including 4.8 g of BCAAs and 2.2 g of leucine.
The neutral version contains no flavouring and no sweetener. It also includes the lactase enzyme Tolérase™ L, which breaks down lactose, plus tara gum and sunflower lecithin.
How to take it and cook with it
Add two scoops (30 g) to 300 ml of water, milk or plant drink and shake for a few seconds; for a thicker texture, let it stand for three minutes. Take the serving in one go or split it into two halves: at breakfast, as a snack, with a meal, or in the evening when the day’s meals were rushed. Around training, the brand points instead to its Muscle Protein.
The neutral taste disappears into a smoothie, yoghurt, fromage blanc, a breakfast bowl, pancake batter, porridge or a dessert cream. Avoid boiling liquids, which spoil the texture; warm or cold preparations are fine. The 750 g bag holds 25 servings, a little over three weeks at one serving a day.
Allergens, storage and our Paris shop
Contains milk and egg. The lactase does not make it suitable for people allergic to milk proteins. For a vegan diet, the alternative is Nutripure’s Organic Plant Protein, made from pea and rice; our protein section gathers all the others.
Close the kraft bag tightly and store it in a cool, dry place. Developed in line with the EN 17444 anti-doping standard and made in France.
Herba Barona has been a food supplement shop since 2006 at 10 rue Théophile Roussel, Paris 12th: open Tuesday to Saturday, 9.30 am to 6.30 pm, near Ledru-Rollin (line 8) and Bastille (lines 1, 5, 8) metro stations.
Frequently asked questions
Do you need to do sport to take Daily Protein?
No. It was designed precisely to top up everyday protein intake, at breakfast or as a snack, whether you train or not.
Does the neutral flavour taste of anything?
Very little: a light milky note in water, which disappears in milk, a plant drink, a smoothie or a recipe.
Can it be heated?
It works in warm dishes such as porridge or pancakes, but avoid pouring it into a boiling drink, which spoils the texture.
Where can I find Daily Protein in Paris?
At Herba Barona, 10 rue Théophile Roussel, Paris 12th, Tuesday to Saturday, 9.30 am to 6.30 pm, between Ledru-Rollin and Bastille metro stations.
