How to choose your alpha-lipoic acid in Paris

Alpha-lipoic acid comes in two forms: the racemic form (a mix of R and S, less expensive) and the pure R form (R-alpha-lipoic acid or sodium R-lipoate), which is significantly better absorbed. The typical dosage ranges from 100 to 600 mg per day, best taken on an empty stomach to aid absorption.
